For todays blog I learned the concept of conventions and how they are used in media, specifically how they are used in magazines.
- First I learned what conventions are in the first place which is Media conventions are rules or agreed practices that relate to particular genres or styles of media productions. Media conventions are the ways media codes are used and combined to form individual or generic media styles. (Helveticamediuma.com)
- Some coventions typically used in magazeines include: Mastheat which is the font used is characteristic to the magazine which makes it instantly recognisable and noticeable to the readers along with the stand-out red colour and bold letters.
- Cover model: Usually cover models are celebrities and popular models to attract more attention.
- Double Page Spread For the magazines of my genre that I have researched I found common conventions in them all. The left hand side page consists of one large image with the right hand side featuring the article.
